Update on JGHS

Filed under: Blogging, Group Home Support — Jan @ 4:54 am

Jan’s Group Home Support (JGHS) is the reason I broke into double digits on earnings for the first time and it is still getting the most clicks (income) of the 7 (4 just got ads this month) active sites/blogs.

I learned that sometimes just taking a few steps towards a goal, things start coming together. I have focused on JGHS and the following have occured:

  • I have a co-worker that gave me ideas for goal setting and expansion re: the blog.
  • I started a new job and the training has given me lots of material for the blog.
  • My current job’s reoccurring training requirements gave me material for the blog.
  • Bob submitted a few posts from JGHS to show me that Digg can help with traffic even if no one Diggs the post.
  • My girls will be gone a lot the first couple weeks of June which will give me more time to write.

The best part of it all, is that I really enjoy that blog and writing for it!

When 1/2 Way to First Check

Filed under: Adsense, Blogging, Milestones — Jan @ 11:54 pm

I found out that when you hit the 1/2 way mark to that first check, that AdSense notice you. There will be a pink box that says:

Your payments are currently on hold. Action is required to release payment. More details (has link).

Two things that are required, so be ready if you move along faster than me towards that first check!

  1. Phone number verification-The phone part was easy, it asked when a good time to call would be, I clicked “now” and the phone rang! I followed the directions and I was verified!
  2. The second one wasn’t as easy. Apparently a PIN was sent to my mailing address on May 10, but I haven’t receive it. I now have to wait till June 2 to request another one if I don’t have one by then. I will probably give it an extra couple days due to the holiday tomorrow.

The moral of the story, make sure your address and phone number are correct when you get close to the “1/2 way there” mark. Both of mine were (are) correct. Then watch for you PIN to be mailed to you.

Sorry I didn’t copy the information re: the phone call, but here is what you’ll see if you click “Please enter your PIN”

Your most recent PIN was generated:
Date it was sent

Your PIN was sent to this address:
Your name
Your address
Your country

PINs are printed on white 4.5 x 6 inch (11.4 x 15.2 cm) postcards and postmarked 3-5 days after the generated date above. Please allow 2-4 weeks for delivery. The image on the right shows the inside of the mailer. To view the outside of the PIN mailer, please see this entry (has link).

If you have not received your PIN within 3 weeks, you may request that it be resent.

You can request a new PIN on or after:
Date it can be requested

I hope you have the time and talent to get to that first check faster than me!

Another Reason to Digg

Filed under: Blogging, Group Home Support, Instructional — Jan @ 10:52 pm

I posted before that it was worth the time to Digg even if no one “dugg” you. I found another reason to Digg. It moved me up on the listings on Google’s search.

Well, I have been busy and haven’t checked my group home blog for it’s position on Google search for my keywords. Today, I took a quick peek and not only have I moved to the first page (for the direct link to the blog, not through another blog’s link to the site), but I noticed that a few of the listings were from Digg!

Well, I know this is short, but I started a new second job and am busy with both jobs plus some additional training this week.
