Well, in my pursuit of internet entrepreneurial dream The blog, Reduce Utility Bills, was born. It is a blog that documents what I do personally and will include some informative articles and links as it grows.
How did this idea come about? I was brainstorming on how I can afford to continue with one wage earning job and my self-employment as a writer, so I have more time to develope projects. I started to think about what I could do without but I have little or no discretionary expenses to cut! I am more focused on writing so that is bringing in income, but still I struggle financially.
I had an enlightening moment. I changed my creative energy (which I have an excess of) from asking myself “what can I do without to save money?” to answering the question “how do I have what I want and pay little or nothing for it?” I started with the necessities-gas, water, and electric. I was inspired since watching an Earth Day Special and I have discovered that by doing my little part to save the planet, I can save money and I can have what I want and pay little or nothing! More here.
Writing an article, Earth Day Everyday, isn’t enough, it needs to be lived! I’m starting in my own home. I’m fortunate to own my own home with a big yard, so I have more options than a person in an apartment. Maybe reading my new blog will inspire others to look around to see what they can do, starting in their own homes no matter how big or small.
I really haven’t done much to my backyard. As I stood in my yard, hoping to be inspired on how to reduce my utility bills, I looked around at the vehicle parts and old ‘70 Buick Electra carcass and I thought….”I must be a redneck, I have a redneck yard!”. So I created another new blog for fun and and profit (in the future), Jan Fran’s Redneck Yard. The nephew character may seem a little familiar, yes….the character is very loosely based on my son, Bob Schmuck!
Stay tuned to Reduce Utility Bills because there will be new posts every other day or so and improvements regularly.
