I found out that when you hit the 1/2 way mark to that first check, that AdSense notice you. There will be a pink box that says:
Your payments are currently on hold. Action is required to release payment. More details (has link).
Two things that are required, so be ready if you move along faster than me towards that first check!
- Phone number verification-The phone part was easy, it asked when a good time to call would be, I clicked “now” and the phone rang! I followed the directions and I was verified!
- The second one wasn’t as easy. Apparently a PIN was sent to my mailing address on May 10, but I haven’t receive it. I now have to wait till June 2 to request another one if I don’t have one by then. I will probably give it an extra couple days due to the holiday tomorrow.
The moral of the story, make sure your address and phone number are correct when you get close to the “1/2 way there” mark. Both of mine were (are) correct. Then watch for you PIN to be mailed to you.
