When I got back from Colorado I was ready to stop being scared of change and take the steps to do something different for wage earning. I redid my application and changed it from part time to full time and from restricted hours of availability to anytime availability. I also mustered up some self-confidence and took the online lead/supervisor assessment-which I passed! It worked! I have an interview today in a few hours. It’s a job that has little stress (compared to my current primary wage earning job) and has regular raises and places to move up to. I can support myself, my family, and my home while having energy at the end of the day to continue my internet ventures.
I have to admit I”m still scared, but am willing to set it aside to make some changes. The past year and half I’ve had two interviews, for second jobs, so at least it won’t be 5+ years since I’ve gone on an interview, that helps. What also helps is at my primary wage earning job, for my evaluation, I was encouraged by my supervisor to not be so shy stating my positive traits and my skills. I’m not comfortable with it, but I’ve had some practice lately.
To move on in my quest for financial freedom where I have many choices for income options, I have to have my current finances in order and a savings account. I haven’t been able to do that with my current primary wage earning job, so it’s time to have a new primary job and make my current one my part-time job!
No matter what happens today, I have already succeeded because I took the first steps to change. If this doesn’t work out, I’ll try something else and not give up!
For now, the first step is getting ready for the interview!
UPDATE: Passed the first interview and the second interview will be on Monday! :). If I pass that one, on to a drug test……..I guess no poppyseed muffins this weekend (remember the Sienfield episode?).
