New Blog Design for JGHS

Filed under: Miscellaneous — Jan @ 11:26 pm

Jan’s Group Home Support blog is about to go through a major transformation! I had some problems with the blog so I updated WP, took down all Adsense temporarily, and changed the theme to WP classic. My Adsense ads were fine when I put them back up and it has stayed that way. I choose the theme, Tiju 1.1 for the blog. It seemed dark, but I liked the simplicity of color. I knew I had to change the image and almost didn’t pick it because of that. With Bob Schmuck’s help, I learned how to do that! I rearranged some other things (you’ll see later) and had Bob help out some more. I found out I had learned a lot the past year plus! Some of the things would’ve taken a lot longer them. I would’ve needed more of Bob’s help.

When I first learned about affiliate marketing I signed up for a whole bunch of them as the ideas overflowed while I read about each affiliates details.  Well, about a year later and no income from affiliates, I got re-motivated as I modified the WP theme design for Jan’s Group Home Support Blog. This morning I put up a few that I believe will be of interest to visitors of the blog.

I didn’t just put them in the sidebar with visions of $$ trickling in. I thought about what the type of people who work in group homes need. I changed the heading above the ads. One is “Earn More Money” and I have an affiliate ad for online education in related fields.

I’m listening to Bob Seger and the chorus that was just sung is “there I go …….turn the page”. Well, I’m turning pages now! I have been repeating, reading, and praying about some positive things and changes that are needed in my life. For those who have seen the rather interesting (and bizarre) at times movie “What the Bleep Do We Know”, you know the part about how our cells and neuron connections can change with experiences and it begins with thought! Well, I think it’s time for change for me. I have been way to comfortable holding myself back. I have a painful and challenging road ahead of me, but it’s time to walk down that road!

I keep re-reading the same page, I keep re-living the same page. Even if I’m not ready for the next page, it is time for me to go…….time for me to turn the page. The changes on JGHS is just the beginning! :)
