As my 51st birthday approaches  realize that I didn’t really have a 50 Day Challenge before my last birthday. Before I can create a 51 Day Challenge, I felt I should do something for 50! I have several days off since I am not moving like I thought I would, so I am going to do a 50 hour challenge.

ENTREPRENEURIAL CHANGE STARTED WITH PRAYER

It all started with a hard hit that came up from the past that knocked me down, knocked the wind out of me, and injured my self-confidence. Once I caught my breath, I stood up and was ready to fight for what is right and just. I started with lifting those who are responsible for the injustice up in prayer, thanks to a fine pastor that I know reminding me to do just that. Not only am I developing great spiritual biceps with all the lifting, I am less distracted. What was blocked from my view is now clear. I can see where I need to go and am working on locating the path I will need to take to get there.

NEW DIRECTION IN INTERNET VENTURES

I’m going to take my overflow of ideas and thoughts to video. The first step is to get a new camera that has HD video capabilities. I will have more details soon.

I’m looking into taking a big jump into my Internet ventures. The things that I see I need to do will take time, focus, and some funds. I’m at the edge of the water, ready to jump in!

A DAY OFF FROM WAGE EARNING

Hopefully today, my son will get my blog to help people in financial crisis working. I’m excited about sharing that. I’m not going to focus on getting it on the first page as much as word of mouth. I’m going to start with some business cards to pass around.

Tonight I’m going to dinner at a friend’s and talk to her mom about writing articles.

My day off from wage earning will be spent with my daughter, my son, and writing. Tonight I work, but it isn’t until late.

Knowing the direction to go has been energizing!

It might not look a good as a sunset in AZ, but I like the changes I made on my blog and I think it definitely helps it to look good.

I have always wanted to collapse the categories and archives in my sidebar. I never knew how to do it. All this time on the updated version of  WordPress that I have on this blog, I could easily do it! I found out how easy it is. The updated version already has it under “appearance” and in the “widgets”.

All I had to do was click and drag. It even let me put it in the order that I wanted with a simple click! My sidebar looks so empty now, but it is OK, because those loooong lists are gone! As soon as I can I am going to update my other blogs so I can edit them easily also!

UPDATE-BobSchmuck.com is up and running again and VIRUS FREE!

Until there were two posts from Matt H’s blog with links to my son’s blog and this blog, Bob and I had very few visitors to our sites. Bob is working to get a virus off his site now that there are people visiting it. Until he is successful, please don’t follow the link to BobSchmuck’s blog from here (or anywhere). Thank you! Bob suspended the account (we host it ourselves) to make sure no one visits it.

Sorry for any problem it has caused, we were not aware until today of the increase in visitors and the problems it was causing.

I just started it a few weeks ago. I mostly follow Tweets on the following topics:

• Writing
• Photography

I don’t get to read the Tweets of those that I follow as much as I would like.

So far, I’ve enjoyed the short posting that is required on Twitter.

Seriously though, May is National Mental Health Awareness Month. On the 8th it was Children’s Mental Health Awareness day. There are many people who suffer from mental illness and disorders. It can be mild versions of obsessive-compulsiveness or adult ADD where it doesn’t interfere with the quality of everyday life. It can also be severe like with schizophrenics who hear voices that instruct them to kill. Simple life style changes and even diet changes (maintaining blood sugar, avoiding caffeine, etc.) can often manage mental illness and disorders. Other times it may take hospitalization to find the medication combination that will allow a person who suffers from serious mental illness to live a “normal” life.

Early treatment can prevent people from being at risk of hurting themselves or others. Here is more information on mental health on Jan’s Group Home Support.

Bob’s birthday was on March 30th. He’s 23 now-the second oldest of my 5 kids. His wife got everyone together for his birthday yesterday.

We had a great time at his dad’s (we get along even though we have been apart nearly 20 years now) who BBQ’d great steaks for everyone. All 5 kids, wives, baby, and dogs were there! Bob’s grandma and in-laws came, too.

Everyone brought a side dish. I was so full when we left because after eating all the great food, I had to have some cake! Bob and I shared a birthday cake since our birthdays are so close together.

My car made it the entire trip so I finally got to see my grand daughter! I just loved being with her and having her fall asleep while I was holding her.

I have to admit, with all the problems lately I’m not much into posting on this blog. I do just need a break and am going to give my son some time to see if he can restore it to its former self before I put in more time to get it back to how it was.

So what is it about this blog for Christy? It is an example of good this world. What a contrast to the type of person who spends time and talent hacking into other people’s sites. The creator of Christy’s blog, Mike did it out of the goodness of his heart for his wife’s friend. The mom of this sick child is dedicated to her family and is a hard worker. Reading what she has gone through in this post puts things in perspective. The post doesn’t say much about the dad, but I’m sure he has his struggles as well.

Yesterday I got up, put the hacking and the lost time behind me and wrote an article for Mike to use for a site he’s setting up to bring in some income for this family. My trouble is a drop in the ocean compared to Christy’s family’s trouble. No matter what happens, this family will need help even if Christy is no longer with them. My prayer is that people continue to contribute even if Christy looses her latest fight, this family deserves it.

I work in group homes and have taken care of residents who are like Christy. I have had a son who survived cancer. This situation touches my heart in a special way, because I can relate to so much with them, yet also so little.

Good balances out evil! I can’t help but pray fot the hackers that have caused me trouble the past month. I pray that they discover how much good they could do with their skills, and choose good. I pray they learn the easy way.
