Well, it isn’t really surprising that one of the things that can affect Internet income is time. Even though it is everywhere it remains so elusive. Time is easily wasted and can quickly vanish. It is a replenishable resource…every day there is a fresh supply!

My Adsense income has increased because I made a simple change, I started putting a little more time into my Internet projects. Article directory submissions, adding some back links, and regularly adding some fresh content hasn’t made enough money for me to retire or anything, but it has increased my income enough for me to be encouraged. It has help me remember that time is a precious asset that should be invested wisely.

When considering your fresh supply of time each day, maintain balance so your God and your family aren’t neglected as you chase after money. There is enough time for God, family, friends, and work when you have well thought out priorities and when time is managed efficiently.

The reason I”m even up is that I fell asleep on the couch early and now am wide awake listening to Doo Wop music on public television and cooking some chicken for soup…seemed like a good time to catch up on posting since this is one of the first times in a long time that I have been caught up on my writing orders.

Learn to work smarter, not harder on your Internet projects. There is the 20/80 rule that basically is about finding out what is most productive and put 80% of your time and effort in the 20% that is producing the most. So often, people invest 80% of their time and effort into the least productive projects.

DAY 32-PUT THE MOST TIME INTO THE MOST PRODUCTIVE PROJECTS

When you start using your time more efficiently, you will see better results with your Internet projects. As you shift your time and efforts you will see which projects will be worth continuing with and which projects you may find that it is best to cut your losses and eliminate. It is not always just about money, your time must be considered because it does have value. Making money on the Internet is often like investing…you don’t see the financial results right away. You still need to consider the investment of time when making choices regarding your Internet projects.

Don’t just look at the website that is bringing in the most money, check the average pay per click (PPC), this will help you to choose the website to focus on. The one with the highest PPC should be marketed to reach its full potential and then move on to focus on another website. Know which website will be next in line and devote a small percentage of your time to it while working on you main site.

When deciding what new sites to develop, you will want to decide which sites you need to bring in steady income. To do this, you will want to pair up and group sites and income streams that compliment each other. So that when one stream is trickling in the income, the other one will bring in a bigger stream.

DAY 26-CREATE A PLAN FOR STABLE INCOME

To create stable income, you will need to make a plan to own, create, develop, and market websites that are bringing in money at different times and during different circumstances. You will want to consider how the keywords, website, affiliates do in the following circumstances:

Good and poor economy

Times of day, week, month, year, etc.

Seasons

Holidays

School year and summer time

Weather (hot, cold, rainy, cloudy) seasons

Parts of the country (southern, northern, coastal, mountain)

With the changes in the search results pages with Google, you will want to consider what local searches do better at different times and in different circumstances.

Knowing the strengths and weaknesses of your income streams, you will be able to create a stable income from your websites, affiliates, advertising, and blogs.

Some feel that income from the Internet is unstable and less secure than wage earning income. This belief isn’t as strong as it use to be in light of the massive wage earning job losses of the recent economy. In fact, some feel that it is more stable because you have more control over online business and self-employment than trusting someone else to run a business efficiently and effectively.

DAY 25-TRACK INCOME PATTERNS OF INCOME STREAMS

Knowing the patterns of income streams will allow you to create a dependable and stable income from all your income streams. Wage earning is often necessary when fist starting out, but the goal is to decrease dependency on wage earning so that it can eventually be eliminated.

Many income streams will have multiple patterns. When looking at income patterns for a site you will want to see if you notice patterns in specific areas. These are some things to look for:

Times of day

Times of week

Times of month

Times of year

Once you notice patterns, you can group income streams together to create stable income from various streams. If you have a website that has high income in the spring, you will want to pair it with a site that has high income in the fall and then add sites that have high income in the summer and winter. This group will bring in stable income throughout the year. The income from three out of the four sites should be counted on and the income from the forth site should be put in savings in the event there is a slow time.

This can be repeated for each month, week, and day. If you don’t have a site that brings in income for a slow time, you can do research and develop sites that fill in the gaps.

Different types of sites and niches have times that they make more money than others. You will want to be familiar with when you websites, blogs, affiliates, and online stores make the most money. Having this information will help you know which sites to develop and where you have a weakness. To start you will need to know the where your income is coming from and how much.

DAY 24-CATAGORIZE INCOME

Evaluate your streams of income. List all forms of income that you have. Separate them in the following two categories:

Consistent income wage earning, self-employment, monthly advertisers

Inconsistent income-contracted and freelance work, Adsense, affiliates

Though nothing is for certain during these economic times, you know you can usually depend on the income from consistent income. This income should be enough to pay the bulk of your non-discretionary expenses. The inconsistent income should pay for extras and used for supplementing your consistent income.

The amount of income from the various streams is important to know so that you can budget accordingly. Money from overtime, extra jobs, and high earning months should be set aside in a savings or other account to have money for slow months or if an income stream stops.

When you are an entrepreneur, you are usually full of ideas and interests. When working on your Internet ideas, don’t neglect your other entrepreneurial interests. My other interests include writing, art, and photography.

DAY 13-MAKE TIME FOR OTHER INTERESTS

Being too focused on one project or one area will contribute to burnout, ineffectiveness, and boredom. Include regular time for other interest that you have, especially those that get you away from the computer. Sunshine and a change of scenery can do great things to get you re-motivated and increase your productivity.

The interests can be income producing or just for enjoyment. For me, I can take photos and it is very enjoyable for me. Those pictures can be used for collages or to sell as individual prints. It gets me away from the computer and outside since that is my favorite place to photograph.

I also love to write, but the computer is needed for that. I take my computer to the barn and write while I watch my daughter ride. I also have a work area set up outside on my porch where I can work.

Don’t neglect friends or family or other interests. Success on the Internet will not be very enjoyable if you are alone. Maintain relationships. If you don’t find success on the Internet, you will want to have maintained other areas of interest in your life. These interests can also carry you through slow times online.

An accurate job description with clear, detailed instructions will be important when you are ready to outsource a task or job for your Internet projects. If you have been doing it yourself, this may make it easier.

DAY 10-CREATE OUTSOURCE JOB DESCRIPTIONS AND INSTRUCTIONS

If you have been doing your own Internet developing and marketing, you should choose one task to create a job description and instructions. When you choose the task, you will need to do the following:

Write down each step as you do it

Go back and write the instructions

Time how long it takes for the task

Determine what you can afford to pay

When you have the description and instructions done, set it aside and go back later to review it. Time yourself completing the task and add a little bit extra for someone who may be new. Whoever you hire can give him or herself a “raise” by completing the task sooner.

Price the task so that a person is paid enough it is worth their time and will encourage loyalty and prompt completion. Go back and look over the job description and instructions and see if you want to edit it at all. Then have someone you trust look over it, to see if it is clear and accurate.

Repeat this for all the tasks you do, even the ones that you don’t want to outsource. This way if you have an unexpected situation come up that you have to have someone else do it, you will be prepared. Also, if you want passive income where you earn income with minimal amount of your time, eventually you will want to outsource all tasks.

To know where you can cut back, you will need to know where your money is going. You will probably be surprised the amount of money you spend buying coffee or eating out. Knowing the amount of money that goes to financial institutes from interest payments is often a good motivator to pay off credit card debt and loans.

There are many ways to reduce spending. One way is to buy less. This is the first thing to do. You can start shopping sales, buy used, buy off brands, make do with what you have, and more. Once you spend less, you will have more funds available to pay down bills. Once bills are paid down, you will have money available to cut back on hours at wage earning which will allow you to spend more time developing your projects.

When you have more money available you will also be able to start outsourcing and investing money in your projects. Before you do, make sure your are putting money aside to save for slow times or drops in Internet income.
