Prioritizing Internet Projects

I have been struggling at making income online for years. Operative words….”I” and “struggling:”. Finally I took some time to PRAY and LISTEN and to be STILL. I realize that I haven’t really prayed about what I do online and how that time is spent. I realize I wasn’t giving time to God first when it came to my online projects. This may work for others, but it hasn’t worked for me, because my path is one that includes living according to my beliefs.

I started making time for God and projects that have to do with my faith and beliefs and the Bible. I’m still flailing around some, but as I get focused and prioritize my time, I am finding that things are falling into place. It is happening not by my power but by God’s power!

Path of an Internet Entrepreneur

It is easy to look down one path on the journey as an Internet Entrepreneur and think it is the right one. It is easy to follow the “rules”. What is not easy is to look down the path and see that you might be wrong and things need to change.

This morning I woke up, yet again on the couch. Normal people sleep in their nice comfy beds, I should sleep in my bed even though my couch is SO comfortable. Yet, today wasn’t the first time that I woke up and there just “happens” to be something useful and motivating to me on the television. Now it wasn’t some awesome miracle product available on an info-commercial…it had to do with my writing or photography. Today it was Art Wolfe’s show, Travels to the Edge. Besides just some interesting information about Mongolia, he talks about why he chooses shots and what makes a good picture. It motivated me to do more with my photography.

Today as I got up off the couch to let my dog out, it occurred to me that sometimes we need to be outside what is “normal” to be on the right path and receive all that is out there for us.

Look around at what you are doing and see if you stripped away the “rules” and what is “normal”, would you be on the path that you are on, or are you missing out on something because you are not on the path that is going to lead you to everything you are to receive. This goes for life, Internet projects, work, etc.

51 Day Challenge Begins!

Today is the first day of the 51 day challenge. For the next 51 days I will be sharing 51 motivational ideas. The plan is to have an idea a day. You don’t need to complete the list in 51 days, but it can be a resource whenever you need some ideas or you can go through the list and choose the ideas that will help you to be successful in your Internet ventures.

DAY 1-FIND WHAT MOTIVATES YOU

You may be struggling to get motivated to work on your Internet ventures. The first thing to decide is if you really want to be an Internet entrepreneur. It not only takes work, it will take patience. If you don’t have a lot of funds for outsourcing, you will need to be doing a lot of work before you will see results. If you are outsourcing, you may not have enough income to cover the outsourcing costs at the beginning. If you are sure this is what you want to do and can wait it out until the income you desire is realized, you will need to find out what motivates you.

To find out how to get motivated again, think of something that you do that you don’t have to push yourself to do. Think of why you are able to work hard at that task or activity and why it seems easy. Apply what you learned to motivate you on your Internet projects. Sometimes money isn’t enough of a motivation. Find a project that you enjoy and work on that in addition to the projects you are working on only because of the income it brings in or has the potential to bring in.

51 Year Old Entrepreneur

Yesterday was my birthday and I had an awesome day. The celebration continues when my family gets in town and I get to do it again! 51 doesn’t sound any older than 50. Turning 50 last year, I was amazed how 50 sounded SO much older than 49! It is all just numbers until the hot flashes start! LOL

Had a great day with a friend and my daughter. Ate SO much and have a frig full of chocolate goodies! The near by mountain had snow on it. Was surprising because we have some really warm weather all ready.

Looking forward to a year that is even better than my 50th year. Growing faster than ever before but still have a long way to go to reach my goals. At least I feel like I threw away the walker and no longer am shuffling towards my goals. I’m making progress at a faster pace.

Thanking God for bringing it all together and keeping it together.

50 Hour Entreprenurial Challange Completed

Well I have been busy with life in general and with wage earning jobs. I haven’t been on top of working on my own projects a little each day like I planned, but am getting back into doing that, which is why there is finally a post and an update on my 50 hour challenge.

This is how I finished up my last 7.5 hours of the challenge:

Article writing 3 hours
Marketing 1 hour
Project development 2 hours
Photography 1.5 hours

I got an early birthday present, an awesome camera, the Cannon T3i. I have a lot to learn and am very excited about using it. Will need to upgrade my backup drive and my SD cards. Can get by as is for a little while.

In just 3 days I will be 51 and will start my 51 day challenge. I am very excited about it!

Entrepreneurs and Failure

When an entrepreneur works hard and the project fails to produce, it can knock an entrepreneur down. Each time it happens, it can be a little harder to get up each time. When you look at some of the failures of those who are successful, you will find that they are successful because they kept getting up. Some kept at the same project, others moved on to another project and new goals . Here are some famous people who overcame failure in random order.

Famous Entrepreneurial Failure #1

He is a Harvard University dropout. His business Traf-O-Data failed when the state of Washington offered free traffic processing services. He had security failures with computer software.

He is the founder of Microsoft, a philanthropist, and among the world’s richest men. He is BILL GATES

Famous Entrepreneurial Failure #2

He was born into poverty, the family had to move from the family farm when 7 because of a land title dispute, lost his mother when he was 9 years old, and finished only 5 years of formal education. He lost 8 elections and had two businesses fail, one of which left him with a high debt. He had a nervous breakdown shortly after his fiance died.

He was elected the 16th President of the United States of America. He is ABRAHAM LINCOLN.

Famous Entrepreneurial Failure #3

He had several failed businesses including a candy business. He was nearly bankrupt at age 30. His own family wouldn’t even hire him. It took 4 years to perfect his chocolate recipe . He sold a successful caramel company to focus on a new business. He had no formal education and born into a poor family.

He is the founder of a successful candy company, town builder, and a philanthropist. He is MILTON HERSHEY.

Don’t think a failure means you need to quit. There have been times that I struggle with a project or idea. I am learning to not give up, but maybe reconsider or re-organize. There are times to move on and let some ideas go or put them on the back burner. Focusing on a project or two and giving it a good push forward is important for success.

An Entreperneur and 50 Hours

To be successful in any business or venture there should be goals and we should challenge ourselves to press forward. Before my birthdays I try to have an challenge to motivate me to push myself on my Internet projects. I often have very good results

As my 51st birthday approaches realize that I didn’t really have a 50 Day Challenge before my last birthday. Before I can create a 51 Day Challenge, I felt I should do something for 50! I have several days off since I am not moving like I thought I would, so I am going to do a 50 hour challenge.

There will be more details later today and expect lots of posts the next few days.

Entrepreneurial Update

I have been sticking with my morning routine! Lots happening spiritually, clothes a little looser even though the scale hasn’t changed, and my income keeps increasing! The increase in income is not just because of the work I am doing every morning for my own projects, but also due to my son, Bob Schmuck and I getting together weekly and working on our projects together. Not only do we get focused and accomplish a list of tasks, it keeps us motivated through the week until we meet again.

ADSENSE

Had a record month and hit $100 in a record amount of time. I can’t wait to reach the next goal of a monthly check from Google and then set the next goal of $100 per week from my Adsense income!

BIBLE STUDY

It’s amazing how a bible study, fasting, and prayer can open my life to so much! YAY for a God who is still performing miracles today!

I am full of excitement and expectation for what lies ahead this year. My 50th year is definitely MY year of jubilee!!!

Encouragement From Adsense

This entrepreneur is very encouraged today. Not only did I not have to wait for some income today, I had income when I woke up this morning! Within an hour there was another click and my total almost doubled. I made as much today as I average in 4 days. It is still small numbers, but I am encouraged. In addition it was on two sites that I haven’t marketed at all.

I am on my way to my son’s to work on some of our projects together. With my new found encouragement, I am looking forward to working together even more. We our good partners because we have different skills and strengths. He is a skilled marketer and knows code. I am skilled at writing and always have ideas. Together we accomplish a lot and the momentum started lasts long after we work together.

Focused on Internet Success

I have been really focused on my Internet success. I have made time for family, not much for friends, and have gotten little done around the house, but I am seeing results! As I see others going out to have fun or even sitting around the barn relaxing and visiting, I wonder how people survive financially and still have time to do that! Part of me gets distracted by a little jealousy and then I snap out of it! I know that it won’t always be this way. Someday when I have time and a good stream of passive income coming in I know I will have the freedom to spend my time doing the things I enjoy soon. While the people who are relaxing now head off to work, not by choice, but by necessity, I will be doing things I love and working by choice when I want to.

It is difficult to focus, but for years I have given a little here and there while trying to give many other places to. Well…that hasn’t been working for me, so it its time for change! I’m seeing the results in little ways like my Adsense increasing and the ability to get a articles out.

Well…back to my article writing for pay…self-employment income is one step closer to passive income.
