Well, I haven’t been working on my own projects as much as I would like to be. I had a goal of doing it every morning and had started out strong until I started sleeping a little later. I never seem to get to it later in the day. I have chipped away at my 50 hours though.

PHOTOGRAPHY

I spent 5 hours on my photography at the workshop and at the rodeo. I spent another 2 hours photographing snow in the dessert (rare) when we got enough snow that it stuck a couple weeks ago. It was quite the experience. I took so many pictures between a couple trips to the rodeo, the snow, the barn dances, visiting a national monument, and friends out dancing that I was almost tired of taking pictures! Have lots of great shots and awesome memories.

WRITING

I have been getting a lot done with my content writing services. I have a new writer and new client. I’m going to credit 4 hours towards the challenge. I got my new writer started, worked on articles for a new client, wrote articles for use for marketing, and wrote a little for a new faith focused project I started. That would be 2 hours for Jan’s Writing Services and 2 hours for content writing.

WORKING WITH BOB SCHMUCK

The time working with my son, Bob Schmuck continues to be productive and motivating. We have gotten together twice in the past few weeks. During that time we did the following:

organize (1 hour)

marketing (1.5 hours)

keyword research (1/2 hour)

write (2 hours)

brainstorm (1 hour) during our time.

The focused time has paid off. I hit my $100 in Adsense income in two months…a personal record! (happy dance!….happy dance!)

NEW PROJECT DEVELOPMENT

Working on a few new projects. One is for Super Bowl L (50). I am going to have two sites that I will develop over the next 4 years and then sell it right after Super Bowl XLV (45). This I got the domain names and keyword research done.

The other project is faith focused and I haven’t gotten much farther than lots of notes and ideas in a notebook. It will have a lot of videos. It will start with a focus on teens. I did get the domain names.

When my new writer submitted her sample article, she actually had an excellent keyword. I have the articles ordered for that and am going to develop a website. I got the domain names.

For these projects I probably spent about 3 hours plus about 1/2 an hour on keyword research.

Well, I’m almost done! I have tomorrow off and hope I will be able to get closer to finishing.

TOTAL 42.5/50 hours

My 50 Hour Challenge is moving along slower than I expected, but I am still chipping away at the hours. I have had to work at my wage earning job the past few days, so there has been limited time for my entrepreneurial projects. I did work on some writing that I want to get delivered today.

I will have several hours devoted to Jan F. Pavis Photography because I will be at a photography workshop that I am very excited about. I will keep my eye out for any website/blog ideas. For events that occur yearly, the day after the event is a good time to get started for next year. Getting something up and letting it age for a year will give you a good position when the event gets close the following year.

There is a bright shiny new year ahead and ideas run wild on how the new year will be the best year ever. The truth is before Valentine’s Day, the New Year’s resolution is long forgotten by a majority of people. I have a different idea for my New Year’s resolution…I am going to have a “New Month’s resolution” for my New Year’s resolution.

This means on each new month’s eve, I will have a NEW MONTH’S RESOLUTION….12 months is just too long to work on just one thing! I will work on 12 different things this year.

For January, my resolution is to organize my writing business. I have gotten distracted and behind over the holidays.

I will never be able to grow my business if I don’t focus. I don’t want to be working for wages the rest of my life! I want to travel and work…..that means my Internet income needs to grow and I need income that I can earn anywhere I am! I don’t have much for my retirement so if I want to retire when I am still young enough to enjoy my life, I need to get a move on developing my Internet income and income from things that I enjoy like writing and photography (it doesn’t seem like work).

Today when I was reading it was about knowing what God wants you to do. While reading, I saw that the lessons could be of help to entrepreneurs.

IDEA OVERFLOW AND ENTREPRENEURS

Most entrepreneurs are not short on ideas for their entrepreneurial pursuits. For me it is the same when I think of what I can do for God. I have my usual overflow of ideas. For me, it is the process of choosing which one to focus on and which ideas to focus on that will lead to success. The Bible study’s instruction can be used in my entrepreneurial projects as well.

BIBLE STUDY AND MY INTERNET PROJECT IDEAS

Here are some points from the Bible study that I have altered to be applicable to an Internet entrepreneur:

Learn where God is working and go there-for the entrepreneur, you need to know where the activity is on the Internet and go there. It may not be the most popular, but there is activity. Research your keywords, what are people really searching for?

Know the word of God-for the entrepreneur, you need to have some knowledge of Internet marketing even if you hire someone to help you. To make educated decisions, you will need to be educated. Knowledge is just one key in making successful choices for you entrepreneurial projects.

Follow the Holy Spirit-for the entrepreneur, trust your gut feelings. You can’t rely on this alone, you must also combine your feelings with knowledge, peace, and desire.

God will give you a desire to do his work-for the entrepreneur, you will need a strong desire to develop your project idea. Otherwise it will sit on the back burner and any money invested will be wasted.

God will give you peace about doing his work-for the entrepreneur, you should have peace about your project idea. This goes hand-in-hand with following your gut. You should not only have a gut feeling that the project is the one that makes money, you should feel at peace with your choice. Not all projects that can make money should be pursued by you.

Circumstances present opportunities to do God’s work-for the entrepreneur, it is more than just doors opening and closing, it is also about knowing which doors to open that may be closed because the door will lead you to a successfully developed project.

Patience is needed to see results from following God-for the entrepreneur, you will need patients while you wait to see a website or blog start to bring in income. Keep working on it, in time it will be worth the efforts and time.

With my many ideas for online projects, I am going to spend a little more time with each idea and sort through which ones to focus on, which ones to develop, which ones to just let go and allow someone else to develop.

With the new year approaching, it is a good time to clean out your entrepreneurial storage shed!

Recent financial problems have inspired this Internet entrepreneur. I know there are a lot of people facing a financial crisis right now. Mine inspired an idea for a blog. I know there is a lot of competition so I will eventually market it locally and in person. Of course I want it to bring in some income for me, but I also want to help people out that are going through what I am.

It is easy to look at the income of other entrepreneurs and want to be where the grass is greener. The truth is…The grass is greener on the other side because there is someone watering, fertilizing, and mowing that grass. So I am getting busy on my own lawn!

NEW BLOG IDEA

I can’t give a new blog too much time right now because I am busy trying to write enough to bring in much needed income. I have a domain name already, so that is already taken care of. I did create a folder and picked out a blog theme for the blog that I will post ideas for dealing with a financial crisis. I am writing some of the pages and then will work on some posts. When I am able to sit down and set it up, I will have it content ready. With a few article submissions and blog comments, it will be ready to sit for about 6 months while I market it locally. I will also be able to link it to 365 Ways to Save.

MAKING TIME FOR INTERNET PROJECTS

I’m working on making time for my own Internet ventures instead of waiting to have time. I have come to the conclusion that time doesn’t magically just appear for my projects….I have to make the time for my projects. If I don’t I will never have the passive income that I need to attain financial freedom and not work so much for others.

This entrepreneur is moving along at a nice steady pace earning income. Writing and doing overnights for the group homes (in addition to working at Walmart) has helped me make progress climbing up from my financial fall. I have today and tomorrow off from Walmart and I am not going to do any overnights because I am exhausted and reaching my limit and need to write.

PROJECT FINANCIAL RESTORATION

I just about have all the overdraft fees paid! I am getting child support again, so that should help a lot. I have kept utilities and my cable (necessary for Jan’s Writing Services) from being turned off. The food in the frig lasted until I got paid. I’m working on rent next and a personal loan. I’m just taking it one step at a time and trying hard not to panic or give up!

JAN’S WRITING SERVICES

I’ve had some record days getting articles out. I plan to do the same today and tomorrow. The only days that I didn’t get a lot of articles out was when I only had a couple hours between shifts. The last couple of overnights kicked my butt and I had to get some sleep. My daughter is helping with the house so I can focus on my writing! She is such a blessing. Bob Schmuck has also been a great help with getting articles together for me. I should get them today so I should be able to get a lot of articles out.

ADSENSE

About 2 weeks ago I hit my $100 to get an Adsense check. It took me only 4 1/2 months this time. I try not to be discouraged as others get nice checks every month. I missed having my best month ever by just a few cents. The check that I get will the largest one ever. It has motivated me to write an article for one of my own projects in between groups of articles that I am writing. I hope before the end of the year I can share Jan’s Group Home Support with those I know in the profession. Before I do that I want to I need to have more current articles and some scheduled to post in the future. In case I don’t get to post for a few weeks, I don’t want to loose the new visitors because there isn’t enough new content.

Well, that’s it for now….off to writing!

After writing my last article and linking to some of my blogs, I realize that I don’t have targeted ads showing up any more! This will slow down me reaching my passive income goals, so instead of focusing on one blog at at time as planned, I will get some current posts on all the blogs.

Time flies when one is busy. Some of my blogs haven’t had an update in a year! I remember when I use to post several times a month on them! There is really no excuse for 365 Ways to Save to not have current posts because I paid for posts so that there is a post for everyday of the year. I just need to double check each post and put it up. The idea on that blog is to not have the year posted and have a post for every day of the year. Once it starts making some money I will move it to its own domain. I should have been able to do that by now because I started the blog a year and a half ago!

So I will be getting a few posts up on all of the blogs. Here is my new plan:

4-6 posts per blog that will be scheduled to post one per week

Continue to post regularly here on Jan’s Ideas

Focus first on Jan’s Group Home Support

Focus second on 365 Ways to Save

I chose Jan’s Group Home Support because I can write quickly for it and I want to market it where I work and here locally. I chose 365 Ways to Save because I have the posts ready and waiting.

I have to work wage earning several days and am going to have some of my photos at a craft fair, so I will start working on the other blogs starting next week.

Well on Monday I had the day off from Wal-Mart and didn’t go to work until 7p at my second job, working in group homes for mentally/physically disabled and mentally ill adults and youth. I spent the day earning money writing and got some writing done for my own projects. With going to work in the evening, I had limited time to work with. Looking ahead on my calender, my daughter would be at her brother’s and his dad’s house on my next full days off from wage earning. It was tempting to have one day all to myself, but I reconsidered. I decided to keep things more balanced.

I will work on balancing the following:

What I WANT to do

What I HAVE to do

What I SHOULD do

Some of the things on each list could overlap, so I further define the lists in the following ways:

What I WANT to do-time to myself, recreation, relaxation, visit with friends

What I HAVE to do-earn money (writing), pay bills (the days off are right after payday from both jobs)

What I SHOULD do-say no to any relief work, clean my house, go through more boxes in storage, work on my own internet projects

So for now I will make some plans with friends on Sunday am and will use the rest of my time to do things off the “need” and “should” list.

I have felt like this before….I want a day to hang out with a friend and then when the day is over I regret not accomplishing more from my “need” and “should” list. Getting things done like working on my internet projects is actually something I want to do and I feel good when I accomplish things, but it is work in a way.

Working all the time is sure to lead to burn out.

Well, I guess it takes a few days and some new posts to get Adsense ads to be more related in content. I’m just SO glad that I no longer have the “p” topic ads. OOPS I spoke too soon, they are still up! Every once in awhile it is back to being targeted for internet entrepreneurs and those who are making money on line.

I took a walk yesterday during my break and I felt so much better! I found my posture has changed. Before at the departments I was in, there was a lot of walking and more physical work (either moving 50lb cases of dog food, cases of canned pet food, or 52 inch TV’s). I sit more at the stations in the vision center. I guess I will have to think more about sitting up straight and continue with my walks.

I still fell asleep on the couch early. I guess that won’t change overnight. I got a few articles written. I have a few appointments today but am off from my wage earning job.

My goals for today

Make some progress with writing articles for pay

Add a blog for a new project coming up

Get down the Christmas tree (the other decorations aren’t as obvious or time consuming to take down)

Check last years goals, see if I met any of them

Though I’m at the very low end of passive income on line (still making just change daily) it has been steady and increasing slightly. MY year has arrived and I expect that to change by the end of the year.

Since my strength is writing and blogs, I always thought I could get a blog set up to “run” itself. I never had a complete plan or got started. I finally did!

Here is the plan

GOAL-Have a blog with 365 posts (yes…that is one post everyday)

CHOOSE TOPIC-Daily general living inspiration

CHOOSE NAME-Go Forth Today

SET UP

Create a sub-domain on one of my general use domains

Add WordPress

Chose a WP theme

Change the code to remove the year from each post

Add Adsense and Shopping Ads

PROCESS

Write 12 posts (one per month) before beginning anything

Write 3 more blocks of 12 posts until I have 365 posts

Evaluate

Fine tune

REPEAT

Use final process to make another blog

Add to the process

Keyword research

Traffic

SEO

Once money is being made I will repeat with blogs that have their own .info domain

The blogs that are the most successful will be used as a starting point for related websites and blogs with .com domains

Today I have 4 articles written. I just wanted to get started on something and I can write fast on the topic I chose. I am resisting doing anything else right now so that I can finish up some crafts by Sat and fulfill current writing orders.
