Yesterday I had the day off. Of course I didn’t get as much done as I would’ve liked, but I did accomplish a lot and even went out dancing last night. I had a great time! I almost stayed home to get more done, but it’s been a couple months since I went to my favorite country bar. My girlfriend was going to be there to be my designated driver, so out I went. I have Sunday off again.

The biggest thing I accomplished was to learn how to enter pages in my new data base from my son, Bob Schmuck. We had a phone conference and he walked me through it. I think I added about 8 pages yesterday after he taught me. They were simple 1-2 paragraph pages. but they will get the job done.

I got some posting done today and yesterday.

Sunday I will look over my 48 Day Challenge goals and see where I’m at. Yesterday Bob was going to show me how to add Kontera to my sites, but I hadn’t added the sites yet. I thought it would be like Adsense and it could be done right then. I will have to put that goal on hold until I get the other sites approved.

Well, today will be busy. My oldest son and his family will be here to work on my youngest son’s car. We will have an early Easter egg hunt for my grand daughter since they won’t be back in town on Sunday. There is the Easter picnic for the group homes today and I will be taking pictures. I guess it’s time to pull myself away from the computer!

I did it! For this month (so far) I have averaged a dollar a day, well….$1.09 to be exact. The income came from Adsense, Review Me, and Kontera (in that order). Even without the Review Me income, I have doubled my previous daily average and I am $3 away from having my highest earning month with Adsense. Last year I made $2.63 for all of March!

I have stayed motivated as I struggled along working on making money on the internet. Actually making money is a very big motivator. This is a step towards making enough money to decrease hours at a wage earning job and eventually not having to work wage earning at all!

It is a very happy day for me and there is still about 12 more hours for clicks! By May 2008 I want to receive my second Adsense check from Google. It took me 16 months to receive my first one, when I get one in May, it will be 6 months since that first check. I hope to keep whittling away at the length of time between checks until I get one every month.

My road has been slow moving on my journey to making money on line. The resent extra effort for my 48 Day Challenge is already showing results. Last year I broke past earning pennies a day to nickels and dimes as day. Well, this month I moved up to quarters! I’m about 30 cents away from making what I made last month!

You may wonder why I post about my small milestones, it’s because usually it’s the ones that are making big money (or at least saying they are making big money) that post their accomplishments. It can be discouraging for those at my level. Sometimes it can seem like everyone is making money except me! I choose not to be embarrassed, but be an encouragement to others to keep shuffling along until you can run forward with income from the internet. We need to know we are not alone.

Easter Sunday we will be closed for the holiday at Wal-Mart. It will be the last holiday we will close for. Starting this year our store will stay open for all the holidays. I look forward to being home, catching up, and getting some steaks and ribs to BBQ for our Easter dinner. It is such a relief to know I’ll be home an extra day.

Bob Schmuck and his wife just left for Bob’s football game in Phoenix. Spending time w/him always gets me motivated to work on my online ventures.

I took the time to do some math. Even if I got behind on some goals for weekly, I want to meet my goals if I average it out for the 6 weeks of this challenge.

Today my focus is on my goals for this blog.

Evaluation of goals:

Post 3x per week-I should have 9 posts -I have 8 posts (including this post).

Post an update on the challenge every week-I should have 3 update-I have 2 updates (including this one)

Kontera-not up yet

What I’m going to do to get/stay up to-date on goals:

Post 3x per week-write 4 posts today and edit the time stamp so I will have 3 posts next week.

Post an update on the challenge every week-pick Thur to do the updates since its my day off/flex schedule day. Post two updates to catch up.

Kontera-I just emailed Bob asking him to add Kontera. I will have him show me how to do it or walk me through it on the phone, so I am not dependent on him to do it.

I really need to do a little around the house before I go to work today, so off to write 4 posts and get some stuff done around the house. If I can do that quickly, I will work on my goals for Jan’s Group Home Support blog.

48 Day Challenge Update

I’m already behind on posting. Part of it is because my first week of an easier schedule (last week) I did some socializing and relaxing for the first time in a long time. I’m going to work to get caught up on that first. I will edit “post timestamp” so that I can sit down and write several posts and have them post throughout the week to have consistency. The other advantage is once I’m in the flow of writing I can keep going. For me, I think focusing on one site at a time will be a good idea.

I will go back and put links in to each of my projects that I’m working on on my original post regarding the 48 Day Challenge.

I did make comments on 3 blogs. Jan’s Group Home Support is my baby and I have focused on blogs that relate to that project.

I put some money in my PayPal account to hire a writer for the pages for Jan’s Group Home Support website that goes with Jan’s Group Home Support blog. I needed to get something up since it was on page one for a search with my main keywords. I think my time would be better spent writing for my blogs and just editing the work of a writer who takes the time to do the research needed for the pages.

I bought two new domains. One will allow me to do something with my Netpreneur forum sometime this year. So I now own NetpreneurSite.com!

Well, as I strolled through the footpath (literally) to my computer, stepped over art project materials, and watched my dog lay down next to me on top of a stack of my papers, I realize if I am going to fulfill my goals for my challenge, I will need to create an environment that is orderly and will aid in success instead of hinder it.

If you are planning on beginning the challenge with me, start out by evaluating your work environment.

Make places to put like items (example: office supplies, bills, things to follow up on).

Make a list and purchase any items needed to organize like files, containers, and stackable trays.

Label these items Post a Notes work best incase you end up rearranging things because you under estimated the room you needed.

Sort through everything in your work space and put in their places

Any items that don’t belong in the work space should be gathered in one bag or container. Do not leave the room to put them away….it’s too easy to get distracted!

Have a file or container for items that would take a lot of time to figure out where they belong. Sit down in front of the TV and go through that later.

Dust, polish, and shine everything.

Put permanent labels on containers, files, trays, etc.

Make a list in order of priority with estimated costs of things that would help you work more efficiently.

Purchase these items when funds become available.

I won’t be able to start cleaning today because I have to go to a staff meeting for one job then work a full shift at the other, but I hope to begin this week. Only 10 more days until the challenge begins.

I was looking back at my traffic on my sites and they all peaked last May after my “47 days until I turn 47″ challenge. I have an additional year of experience so I’m looking forward to this year’s results.

Last year I had focused on some goals for the 47 days before I turned 47. The one goal I didn’t meet was the weight loss. The past few months I dropped a size with my job at Wal-Mart! I was very happy as I purchased a smaller size being a nearly 50 year old grandma with 5 kids! Well, my birthday is coming up again in a few months.

I will again be mapping out some goals. If anyone wants to join me, please start thinking about what you’d like to accomplish in the 48 days before I turn 48. My birthday is on April 2, 2008, so we all have a little time to plan before we get started.
