Internet Entrepreneur Update

I barely can remember when I use to be able to write several times a month on my blog…..now its been months!

Been busy with work and life in general. I also have been extremely tired and that has cut my evenings short. Though my energy levels began increasing a few months ago, I still was very fatigued and tired. I’ve been feeling much better lately.

Jan’s Writing Services has been going well. I have some consistent weekly jobs that I am really enjoying.

My Internet projects have been neglected. It is our monsoon season, so that means rain and storms almost every night. With that comes lots of lightening, so the computer gets shut off until it passes which means even though I’m not tired after work, I can’t get on the computer to work on my projects. The over all income has had a slight but steady increase. I plan after my vacation to take some time off to devote just to my internet projects.

Wage earning has been going well. I just had my evaluation at Wal-Mart and got a raise. I’ll be there 2 years next month and have had 3 raises after evaluations and 2 pay level raises when I changed departments. The vision center has great hours and it isn’t stressful or physically difficult, so I will stay there awhile. I’m not drained when I get home, so I still feel like working on the things I love when I get home, like writing and photography.

I finished getting my re-certifications for working in the group homes again. I didn’t get called to do relief work at first because they didn’t realize I had finished. Once they found out I got called a lot. With the upcoming vacation I have put in as many hours as I could (41 two weeks ago and 22 this past week) doing relief for the group homes. They have had to cut everyone 5% in pay, since it is a second job, it’s OK for me. It is a good second job though since it is flexible and I enjoy the work tremendously. It is just there were limited opportunities there and now with the cut backs even less.

My vacation starts on Wednesday. My daughter and I are going to MO to see my sister and we are going with her and her kids to IL to visit family and friends. I’m really looking forward to it. I hope to have access to a computer so I could write and work on my personal internet projects. I was hoping to be able to have a laptop, but it just didn’t work out.

My family is doing well. My oldest and his family moved to ID. From the pictures it looks SO beautiful. I can’t wait to visit. They are expecting my second grandchild in February. I am very excited and wished they were still living closer. I’m glad they are happy there, though. My youngest daughter did great her first year in 4-H at the county fair. With the economic times as they are, my (step)dad wasn’t able to continue providing a horse for her. I will see what I can do in the fall. We do have a horse we are able to borrow for the next fair if we need to. The other kids are doing well.

The move to this house in February was pretty rough, but now that I’m settled in, I really like the house and the area. It is much more manageable to keep up with, and renting has its advantages. Since I can’t get on the computer in the evenings and for here, its cooler at night, I’ve been in the garage going through boxes and have made a small dent in the towering piles. I have a 2 car garage nearly full of boxes and furniture.

Just got off the phone w/PayPal. When talking to a person they can be helpful and are expediting a disputed transaction. I canceled a transaction and it went through with the temporary “hold” amount. I was getting gas, and if you press debit, it holds a certain amount. I accidentally did that and immediately canceled and then continued and pressed credit to get my gas. I of course didn’t have an extra money in the account to cover the hold, so it went to back up funding and now its complicated. Will bring in the email from PayPal that explainw what happened to the bank and hope there won’t be over draft fees to dispute next!

Well, time to get ready for wage earning work. Today last day at work before my 8 day vacation. I am looking forward to the time off, the last time I had time off was a short leave of absence to deal with the foreclosure, move, and a personal issue in February. It was highly stressful and emotional. This time off will be FUN TIME! :)
