New Internet Project
A an internet entrepreneur, one of my goals this year was to put more time and effort into my own projects. I am off to a good start with starting one of my 365 blogs. Today I bought a domain for future 365 blogs. I had already started one of the 365 blogs and just used one of my generic domains. (I have 2 domains that have a generic name about ideas and I just add subdomains to them to keep costs down).
My first of my series of 365 blogs is about saving money, 365 Ways to Save Money. I am paying for content to get started. I will be adding about 15 ideas per week until there are 365 posts. Since it is at the beginning of the year, I am adding the posts with post dates starting January 1. If it was later in the year I would add articles as described in the article Plan for 365 Blog. It seems like every time I try a new WordPress theme, there is a little glitch. Bob Schmuck is always really helpful, but it is fustrating.
I chose a bright and simple them for the money saving blog. The theme I used for this blog wouldn’t put the Adsense ads in so they float in the text to the left. Bob couldn’t figure it out quickly so we decided to not spend too much time on it (time IS money) and just put the ads across the top. This is the first blog I have with the new WordPress dashboard. I like the button that automatically puts in the “read rest of article”. Using that option allows more posts up on page. I chose 7, which is one week of posts. Since my posts are short, the Adsense wouldn’t work in each post.
As much as I believe this blog will be bringing in income, I’m especially excited that I followed through on my goal to work on my own internet projects more. With the ongoing situation that has been a distraction and emotional drain since March 26, 2008 coming to a conclusion within the next few weeks, I expect after a time of adjustment to the outcome, that I will have more energy and be more focused.
